CROWN CONFIRMS HOLLYWOOD ACTOR FOR AUSSIE MILLIONS POKER CHAMPIONSHIP
Jesse Metcalfe Confirmed as Special Guest for Australia’s Most Prestigious Poker Event
Crown can today announce that one of the world’s most high profile emerging actors Jesse Metcalfe, will be arriving in Melbourne on Thursday 21 January to attend one of the world’s largest and richest poker events, Crown Casino’s Aussie Millions Poker Championship.
The Hollywood actor has confirmed he will attend the 2010 Aussie Millions and compete for a slice of the expected AUD$15 million plus prize pool, including playing in the invitation-only ‘Celebrity Poker Challenge’ on Thursday 21 January at 4pm, along with the coveted AUD$10,500 No Limit Holdem ‘Main Event’ on Sunday 24 January at midday, that has an estimated first prize of AUD$2.5 million.
Metcalfe boasts a number of notable roles in major television series and movies however, his most popular role to date has been as ‘John Rowland’, the gardener working for (and playing with) wealthy ex-model ‘Gabrielle Solis’ (Eva Longoria) in the highly successful American TV series Desperate Housewives.
His move to the big screen happened in 2006 when Metcalfe starred as the lead and title character in 20th Century Fox’s ‘John Tucker Must Die’. He was last seen starring opposite Michael Douglas in the ‘Beyond A Reasonable Doubt’ and will next be seen in ‘The Tortured’ opposite Erika Christensen.
Metcalfe is no stranger to major poker tournaments, having played all across the world and on the highly acclaimed ‘Celebrity Poker Showdown’ in the USA. After his trip to the prestigious Aussie Millions, Jesse will no-doubt leave with some new poker tips thanks to WSOP Champion and Crown Ambassador Joe Hachem, who looks forward to catching up with the star whilst he is in town.
