POKER’S FIELD OF DREAMS
DAY 2 - CROWN’S AUSSIE MILLIONS ‘MAIN EVENT’
Yesterday Day 1-Flight 3 of Crown’s 2010 Aussie Millions Poker Championship ‘Main Event’ drew one of the largest and most star-studded fields of the three opening sessions. Among the ‘names’ competing yesterday were the Hachem Brothers (Joe and Tony), as well as Tony G, Mark Vos, Chris ‘Moorman1’ Moorman, Clonie Gowen, Josh ‘JJ Prodigy’ Field, Andrew ‘Adgee’ Jeffreys, Jan Suchanek and Rayan Nathan.
All told, a whopping 270 players took to the felts at Crown, bringing the total number of ‘Main Event’ entrants to 746, a prize-pool totalling AUD$7.46 million and a first prize of AUD$2 million. The runner up will walk away with a cool AUD$1.1 million and the remaining 72 places will be paid, with 57th-72nd earning a minimum cash of AUD$15,000.
The survivors from all three flights of Day 1 will combine at 12:30 TODAY, Wednesday 27 January, in the Crown Poker Room and Studio 3 (live studio, including audience) for the official ‘Day 2’ of play. International poker impresarios returning today include Team Full Tilt pro’s Howard Lederer, John Juanda, Tom Dwan and 2007 Aussie Millions Champion Gus Hansen, along with Australia’s poker hero Joe Hachem, 2006 Aussie Millions Champion Lee ‘Final Table’ Nelson and Britain’s ‘Bright Young Things’ James Akenhead, JP Kelly and Dr Karl Mahrenholz.
