DAY 4 - CROWN’S AUSSIE MILLIONS ‘MAIN EVENT’ - TODAY – FRIDAY 29 January 2010 at 12:30pm

It was another action packed day yesterday at Crown’s Aussie Millions Poker Championship for ‘Day-3’ of the ‘Main Event’, where play lasted for ten gruelling hours and saw the 83 starters dwindle to 18!

Play will resume TODAY at 12:30pm in Studio 3 and will see all 18 players vying for the slice of the AUD$7.46 million prize pool. The ‘Main Event’ will be played down to 7 players and the ‘Final Table’ will be scheduled for Saturday 30 January at 12:30pm.

Yesterday, crowds were eyeballing $100,000 Challenge Champion Dan Shak, who began the day with 409,000 chips and quickly moved in front of the remaining 83. Shak’s lead moved around like a baton in a relay race before finally coming to rest in the hands of Kosmas Dratsas, who finished ‘Day-3’ at the top of the leader board and pushing close to the two million chip mark.

A rare bubble hand that pitted aces over kings with both spiking sets, and the remarkable play of two very talented females in Annette Obrestad and Jessica Dawley, who both made it through to ‘Day 4’.

The total number of players in Crown’s Aussie Millions ‘Main Event’ was 746, totalling a prize-pool of AUD$7.46 million and first prize of AUD$2 million. Runner up will walk away with a cool AUD$1.1 million for their efforts and the remaining 72 places will be paid, with 57th-72nd earning a minimum cash of AUD$15,000.
