Zach Gruneberg - Event #4 Winner
Min bet madness returned to Crown today with Event #4 - $1,100 Limit Holdem. The Crown Poker Room was full of experience with many players returning to their poker roots with the game they were first introduced too.
Today’s field included internationals Annette Obrestad, Dan Shak, Sorel Mizzi and Michael Vartan, plus well known locals Tony Dunst, James Obst, David Saab, Graeme Putt, Jamie Pickering, Grant Levy and Emad Tahtouh.
Once the final table had been reached it was clear that the cream had risen to the top with many familiar faces making it to the final nine:
Seat 1: Zac Gruneberg - 90,000
Seat 2: Ken Eastwood - 55,000
Seat 3: Grant Levy - 94,500
Seat 4: Jesse Maguire - 112,000
Seat 5: Craig Bergeron - 118,000
Seat 6: Billy Argyros - 18,000
Seat 7: David Bach - 37,000
Seat 8: Bruno Portaro - 117,000
Seat 9: James Obst - 57,500
Soon after the final table began we had our first two casualties with Billy Argyros ($3,500) followed by David Bach ($4,200).
The next to go was Bruno Portaro ($5,600) followed by James Obst ($7,700) who had been shortstacked for some time. After losing Grant Levy ($9,800) and Ken Eastwood ($12,600) we were left with three players younger than the age of 20 to battle it out for the title.
Three handed play continued for a long time with Zach Gruneberg holding the chip lead throughout. Zach eventually knocked out Jesse Maguire ($17,500) and Craig Bergeron ($25,500) in quick succession to claim the title.
For his efforts Zach takes home $25,200 and the championship ring valued at $4,000.
