Saturday 28th January
I couldn't keep up with today's schedule, there was so much happening for the Aussie Millions! Four side events were starting and finishing including the $2,500 Six-Handed NLH, the Main Event played down to the final table of seven, the $25k Semi-Shootout began, and then the world's BIGGEST buy-in poker tournament kicked off in Studio 3: the $250k Challenge.
Many poker-loving hearts broke today as Phil Ivey was the first player to bust out of the Main Event in 12th place. Although, I'm sure Phil woke up torn today between making it to the Main Event Final Table, or registering for the $250k Challenge. I have no doubt that if Phil doubled up his short stack to begin the day, he would have put the pressure on to get play moving at an all-time speed to finish up before 4pm so that he could still play in the high roller event! Either way, he made it to that event which drew an impressive 16 players, forming the huge prize pool of $4 million dollars. Only the top three players would share that though, with a whopping $2 million for the champion. Check out this video to see who played, and who made it through to the end... At the wee hour of 6am! Watch the $250k video here!
